After a review by the Chairman and Tribe’s grants committee, we learned of a Community Services Block Grant that was awarded in January for use until November 2026, but not implemented by the prior administration. In an effort to maximize benefit to our community and not leave this funding on the table we must act fast.
We are hiring part-time and intern positions for a duration of ten weeks. Applicants, if hired, must be ready to start by August 31, 2026. Some positions may be extended beyond the ten-week duration, depending on continuing grant funding.

Youth Development and Community Engagement Director (Administrator/Organizer). Part-Time Director Temporary W-9 employee. Minimum 20 hours week at the rate of $300/week for 10 weeks, plus fringe/reimbursement in lieu of fringe.
Qualifications: Minimum two years experience in administration or management. Strong interpersonal skills, self-starter, motivated. Must not be directly related to any officer or council member of the tribe. College degree preferred.
Duties: Supervise intern tutors in consultation with the Education Coordinator. Supervise other interns in consultation with Officers. Ensure implementation of tribal garden and Fall Farmers Market and other duties as assigned by Chairman and Tribal Council.
This position is hand-on and requires a minimum of two days per week in the office and some local travel. Requires a valid Louisiana driver’s license and transportation.
Intern Tutors (2) [stipend, 1099 - $150/week x min10 hrs./week]
Qualifications: Current High School or College student with a 3.5+ GPA. Lives in Sabine Parish or has transportation and can commute from adjacent parishes.
Duties: Tutor Grade 4-12 students in-person (at tribal office) and/or online for a minimum of 10 hours per week and other duties as assigned.
Interns (6) [stipend, 1099- $150/week x min10 hrs./week] One or more of the following:
Qualifications: Available to work in the office or on projects for minimum of 10 hours per week. Typing 35 words per minute or some gardening or event planning experience is preferred.
Duties: Help in the office, assist officers as personal assistant, implementing programs and initiatives of the tribal council, assist in planning and implementation of tribal garden, assist and planning and implementation of Fall Famers Market, and other duties as assigned.
Elder Mentors (2) [stipend, 1099 - $200/week x min10 hrs./week]
Qualifications: Good moral character and experience in office management and/or agriculture.
Duties: Provide a mentorship program for our tribal youth. Work with tribal council and youth coordinators to implement Six Pillars of Character program to instill positive life skills to the youth. Plan a calendar of events that would provide the youth with an opportunity to learn our culture by working with tribal elders, also allowing them the opportunity to learn positive social skills. Provide mentorship for office interns those working on community garden and farmers market, and other duties as assigned.
