Tribal Chief Report- Chief thanked office staff for tribal office reorganization
Chief related meetings with SRA & Police Jury, School Board,
concerning tribal grounds land donation
Need to get letter from Billy Nungesser’s office
Talked to John Silver concerning grant
Retired teacher in Boston, will donate 50$ per month for elders
Amy Garcie named Education liaison.
Grounds committee met about shower facilities at tribal grounds
Called Bagley’s office & Mike Johnson office
Spoke to Rudy MacklinFinance Report-Proposed temporary freeze on spending
Jake and Mattie to meet with Belinda King about accounting
Mattie discussed phone & light bills & water leak in tribal restroom
Adam motioned to put grant money in separate checking
account/Mattie seconded Motion passed unanimously.
Credit card issues were discussed. Several purchases were made without approval.
Adam stated that Market Basket would not accept tribal card & also limited tribal
checks to $500.
Jake stated that $250 could be spent without council approval. Jake stated that
finance resolution would be put in bylaws.
Mattie motioned to cancel tribal credit card. Seconded by Patrick. Motion passed
unanimously.
Treasurer Report -tabled-Motion Mattie, seconded Adam. Motion passed
unanimously.
Rising Sun-Patrick talked to parents about cooking classes, beads, & dance classes.
Tribal members were to meet with African tribe at state park on 09/20/2026.
Tamale Fiesta Education Day on 10/09/2026
Jake stated that Ho-Minty-Amy Garcie & Rising Sun would work together
Pow-Wow-Tourist Commission to make flyers/email tribal council pictures to Sabine
